Oh Abbs, you're turning into such a beautiful lady! And what a lovely cuddle-bug you are! If someone enters the house and doesn't sit down on the couch fast enough so she can sit in their lap, she comes standing and meowing next to you until you look at her. Then she looks back with an intense stare at which we can only reply "really?", after which she shows us it's still really really necessary for you to sit down, because a session of petting is highly required!
This sweet little lady is a true caregiver. Did her brothers have a quarrel? Then they need a lick over their face. Is her half-sister finished eating? Come over here, let Abbs help and clean you up. Is there no one to take care of? Then she goes to her humans to give them a good wash. Do watch out when she moves towards your elbow, for she almost always puts an affectionate bite in it when finishing a wash!
Abbs her favorite cat in the house is her father. We therefore affectionately call her a daddy's girl because once her dad Radjah jumps on the couch, Abbs needs to be there too. If there's not enough space to stretch out beside him, she doesn't bother to do so right on top of him. She'll purr 'till he rewards her with a lick on her head. Radjah sometimes sighs in his old age, but secretly loves his daughter. And after a short wash up they fall asleep together.
Just a little picture between posts, perched up on the windowsill. Here you can clearly see Abby's pattern is Ticked. There are no lines or spots on her sides. Personally, we find her very beautiful, but of course, everyone will say that about their own cats!
Abby went to show 3 times; 1 time with her siblings in a litter entry where all 7 of them earned a U2 together, one time as a youngster where she received a wonderful U1 and her first time in open class where she received her first CAC (champions point)
She is a very beautiful proportioned lady and has a wonderful coat without tangles, which took her 20 months to develop to the desired length and volume.
She has a good rectangular body and a long tail. Her profile could have been a little better, and she could have been a little bigger according to the judge, but she isn't done growing and developing yet. And, even as a cat, you just can't be prefect ;)
Of course she herself thinks she's absolutely purr-fect. She seems therefore to not find it mandatory to appear on shows, she doesn't enjoy it very much, and after a visiting 7 year old found it funny to shout straight at her in her cage, she unfortunately detests going there anymore (people, please watch your children!!) Unfortunately, no show career for our beautiful lady, but of course we already know she's very pretty.
In due course we'll seek a handsome gentleman for our lovely Abbs, preferably with a good profile. Finding her a gentleman in silver, possibly with white and/or dilution is a personal wish.
Abby will be dna tested in the summer of 2015 (her parents were tested negative) and then, if everything goes well, she could be welcoming her first litter during the course of 2016.
Abby:
little drama queen, fast, playful, attention seeker, cannonball, purr-machine, nursing, enjoying, cat-with-volume and cattitude. Our Abby is perfectly capable to -loudly- proclaim what she wants to see changed. She should be petted more, she should be offered a treat, she doesn't want to be lifted, but does want to sit on our lap. Meanwhile, we all speak 'Abbs' reasonably well and we can almost say we understand her!
To be honest, we weren't planning on keeping a female kitten from this litter, but her beautiful Ticked coat, it was so pretty. And she was so incredibly sweet. Keep her for a little while then? Maybe we could exchange her with a befriended cattery. But Abbs found her way into our hearts, for when the opportunity presented itself to exchange her, we had made up our minds. Abbs was going nowhere and she stayed with us!
When we go upstairs to sleep, she always runs another 3 laps around the room (at rocket speed) before joining us upstairs. She won't eat canned or fresh food, but does appear to want to catch the birds in the garden if we read her intense gaze through the window correctly.
Who's Abby?
Our little girl with cattitude!
